Meet Charlie! Our now 11 month old English mastiff. Charlie likes to think anything he finds laying around or that looks like it was put there out of his reach his own. One of his favorite things is wood. He has eaten our baseboards, corner of our coffee table, our deck (which i'm affraid one of these days I won't notice a new chew mark and fall right through a railing). He ate the tree in our back yard. (which was just planted a year). He started with the branches. and then worked his way down to the trunk. I've done everything. Tried correcting the problem as I see it happen, tried giving him raw hides. He's like a toddler. If it's someone else's it's his, if it looks like it not his..it's his. If it looks like we hid it from him, it's his. Shoes, hats, books are all victims of his. One day we forgot that we left a case of 24 bottles of water out by the front door. We had only gone to the store for about 20 minutes. Came home to find him in the middle of the living room, bottles everywhere. The carpet was wet. The couch was soaked. Our other dog oreo was sitting in the corner scared to move. I turned around without stopping. Went to the pet store and bought the biggest kennel I could find. (as Charlie is a very big dog) and worked at putting him in the kennel when we leave.
